57 Ga. banks on 3rd quarter 'problem' list

ATLANTA - There are over 300 banks in georgia, and almost one in five of them has made it on a list of troubled institutions... including twelve in northeast Georgia.

A lot of the banks got into trouble by making loans in the housing industry and 25 Georgia banks have failed since the housing crisis began.

In all, there are 57 Georgia banks on the list... up from 49 in the second quarter.

Topping the list, according to Georgia News Network, RockBridge Commercial Bank in Atlanta.

Appalachian Community Bank in Ellijay tops the northeast Georgia banks on the list.
